Pelican 4.1

CarPlay map rendering now adapts its frame rate based on driving conditions. During steady cruising the frame rate drops to reduce CPU and battery usage, and ramps back up instantly when needed or when maneuvering.

You can now set the Pelican bird as your app icon. Change your app icon any time in Settings > Personalization.

Fixed navigation maneuver icons being drawn in the wrong light/dark mode theme, making them hard to see.

• Fixed the VIN decoder accepting blank responses as valid VINs, which could cause incorrect car identification.
• Fixed a scanner race condition during connect that could leave the instrument cluster in an inconsistent state.

• Fixed trip logger not restoring the previous trip when the app relaunched, causing a single journey to be incorrectly split into two.
• Fixed mileage being attributed to the wrong car when the OBD scanner connected partway through a trip.
• Fixed high-speed driving samples being misclassified as stationary visits, resulting in journeys missing from the timeline entirely.
• Fixed duplicate mileage reports caused by a debouncer race condition.
• Journey start and end times are now more precise, using location visit data to refine boundaries.

• Fixed record forms silently dropping values entered with comma decimal separators (e.g. "12,345" for 12.345 liters).
• Fuel record quantities now display in the unit they were entered in, rather than converting to your current unit preference.
• Fixed the delete button being hidden behind the keyboard when editing a record, and fixed auto-calculation not triggering when opening an existing record.

• Fixed Suzuki Swift Sport showing a generic car icon instead of the correct model-specific icon.
• Offline cars now show their display name on the Cars page instead of a raw VIN.
• Fixed the Storage > Signals page spinning indefinitely instead of loading.
• Fixed iCloud backup restoration failing with an error when restoring on a fresh device.
• Map pin labels now render on a background thread for smoother scrolling and faster map loading.
• Fixed tapping near the map search bar sometimes selecting a place on the map behind it instead of activating the search field.
• Fixed Polestar cars not loading due to an API change.
