Your trip history stays with you.

Pelican creates trip logs on your phone using GPS and motion data. Logs back up to your personal, private iCloud Drive; Pelican doesn't upload them to its own servers.

Reports don't show who filed them.

Scout reports are anonymous to other drivers. Pelican keeps your account with a report if you are signed in. You can file Scout reports without an account and follow its replies for 30 days.

Voice note audio stays on the phone.

Pelican transcribes Scout report voice notes on device and doesn't send the audio of your voice anywhere.

Reports and diagnostics can include locations.

Reports and diagnostic traces you choose to submit can include locations. When the app contacts Pelican's servers, they also receive approximate country, state and city from your IP address.

Routing can be fully offline.

Enabling offline mode with Pelican Navigation makes Pelican perform all navigation fully on-device.

No account is required.

You can choose to sign in, which allows your map edits and report threads to be attached to your profile and grade.

You control usage analytics.

You can turn usage analytics off in Settings > Data and backups.

You can export your own data.

Export your complete Pelican databases as portable sqlite databases.
